Truong Ngo

How long have you been competing?

I have been competing since 2005 in climbing competitions.

Where do you call home?

My hometown is Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Favorite event or place to practice?

My favorite event is the nationals! Place to practice are different gyms. One of my favorite lead climbing gym is definitely Puurs in Belgium. It has an amazing roof.

What do you like best about your sport?

What I like best about my sport is that it’s not just a sport but it is a way of living. I love to push my limits and enjoy being outdoors. Climbing on the best rock spots of the world makes me happy!

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you while doing your sport?

The strangest thing that has happened to me while I was climbing was when I lost a belay device during a multipitch. We still had 3 pitches to go, I thought it was game over, fortunately my climbing buddy knew how to belay without a belay device, so we could finish the multipitch!

Do you have a claim to fame (fittest, fastest, funniest, smelliest, etc.)?

Claim to fame: I barely sweat, does that count? I’m lucky my hands are dry most of the time when I climb.

Do you promote an annual event or are you involved in a charitable cause?

I would like to promote everyone to climb outdoors more often.

Any notable recent results?

6th National championship bouldering

Outdoor multiple 8B sends
